As a swiftlet farmer, we definitely want our swiftlet house to be occupied by swiftlets as soon as possible. There are several ways to accelerate the swiftlets nesting process in the swiftlet house, including:
- Placing the nest house in the right location: Swiftlets will be more interested in nesting in a safe place, protected from wind and rain, and far from noise and human interference. Therefore, make sure the nest house is placed in a strategic and safe location for swiftlets.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the nest house: Ensure that the nest house is always clean and well-maintained. Swiftlets will be more interested in nesting in a clean and comfortable place.
- Adding a binder or adhesive material: A binder or adhesive material such as clay or cement can be added to the walls of the nest house to help swiftlets build their nests.
- Providing sound stimulation: Swiftlets are very sensitive to sound, and certain sound stimulation can help attract their attention to nest in the nest house. Some ways that can be done include playing the sound of swiftlets or other natural sounds such as the sound of waterfalls or wind.
